Memories of New York in November
Back in 2010, I was living in NYC and my first job off the plane was Christmas employment at Macy's at Herald Square on 34th St. It wasn't exactly where I had hoped to be working and the pay was shockingly low, but I do have fond memories of the few weeks I did spend there.
Employees have the chance to go into the draw to be a balloon handler in the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. I didn't go into the draw but I did check out the parade and took my camera along. If you are lucky enough to be in New York at the end of November, be sure to check it out, as naff as it may seem. Below are some of my favourite snaps from the day. I took myself to where the parade ended for better views and a neat look at how they deflate the balloons.
The day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday, the equivalent of our Boxing Day. Whilst it's not a public holiday, the stores are absolutely hectic. Such a fun time of year to be in the big apple though!
